Jennie Makes Lollapalooza History and Previews Unreleased Music
Chicago's main stage became the launchpad for the BLACKPINK star's next solo chapter.
Jennie made history at Lollapalooza Chicago while giving fans an early look at her next wave of solo music.
The BLACKPINK member closed the Bud Light stage at Grant Park on August 1, becoming the first female K-pop act to headline the Chicago festival. Her roughly hour-long appearance featured 18 songs drawn from her solo catalog alongside several unreleased tracks.
Jennie performed material from her debut studio album, Ruby, including "Mantra," "like JENNIE," "ZEN," "ExtraL" and "Love Hangover." The set also included the first live performance of her latest single, "Less Than a Lover," which was released July 24.
The singer used the headlining appearance to preview new material beyond Ruby, performing the unreleased songs "Sweet Tooth," "Fallen Angel," "Lock It Down" and "Heaven." The festival set marked the first public performance of some of the material, while "Lock It Down" previously appeared during Jennie's Governors Ball performance in June.
Jennie performed with a live band and a team of dancers as the production moved between tightly choreographed pop numbers and more stripped-back moments. Her set capped the third day of Lollapalooza following performances from artists including Clipse, Ethel Cain, Leon Thomas, and Geese.
The historic booking further extended Jennie's presence on the international festival circuit after her 2025 Coachella appearance and 2026 Governors Ball set.
