# Music Community Rallies Around Moodring's Hunter Young as GoFundMe Surpasses Goal

A GoFundMe has been launched on behalf of **Moodring** founder **Hunter Young** as the musician and producer continues battling several debilitating health conditions.

The campaign, organized by Amber Nolan, states that **Young** was diagnosed three years ago with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, dysautonomia, and small fiber polyneuropathy. His condition has reportedly deteriorated significantly in recent months, leaving him unable to work and in need of full-time care.

According to the fundraiser, **Young** now spends an average of 23 hours each day in silence and darkness because of the pain and sensitivity caused by ME/CFS. He has also lost 60 pounds since July due to difficulties eating and digesting food.

Doctors have recommended intravenous immunoglobulin therapy to address the constant burning pain caused by small fiber polyneuropathy. However, **Young** is currently uninsured, and the treatment is expected to cost approximately $10,000 per session and as much as $100,000 annually.

The fundraiser will help **Young** return to Florida, secure housing near friends and family, and begin treatment with an appropriate specialist. Contributions will also assist with medication, daily care, and living expenses while he applies for medical-assistance programs.

"Any support is greatly appreciated and will assist with **Hunter** being able to live a comfortable and healthy life," the campaign organizers wrote.

**Young** is the founder, vocalist, guitarist, and creative force behind **Moodring**, which released its second album, *death fetish*, through **SharpTone Records** in March. He is also a guitarist, backing vocalist, songwriter and producer for deathcore band **PSYCHO-FRAME**.

Much of *death fetish* directly addressed **Young's** experiences with chronic illness and the physical toll that continuing to create music has taken on him. His health has also prevented him from touring regularly with either project.

As of Monday night, the campaign had raised more than $22,000 from 479 donations, surpassing its original $20,000 goal. The fundraiser can be found under the title *Support Hunter's Treatment Journey*.
