Tom Morello Announces First Solo Rock Album, Shares Single
The Rage Against the Machine guitarist is finally putting his name on a rock album of his own.
Tom Morello has announced his first solo rock album, Everyone Gets Everything They Want, arriving September 25 through Mom + Pop Music.
The 12-track record will be Morello's seventh solo album and his first full-length release since 2021's The Atlas Underground Flood. He introduced the project with "Date Night," a song co-written with his son Roman Morello.
"Date Night" draws inspiration from Dutch resistance fighters Truus Oversteegen, Freddie Oversteegen, and Hannie Schaft. During World War II, the three young women worked as spies and saboteurs, helped Jewish children escape Nazi persecution and targeted Nazi officers.
Morello described the single as an explicitly anti-racist, anti-fascist, and anti-Nazi song, calling it a direct "which side are you on?" challenge to listeners.
Everyone Gets Everything They Want features appearances from Serj Tankian, KNEECAP, Beartooth vocalist Caleb Shomo, and Roman Morello, who shares writing credits on five songs. Previously released tracks appearing on the album include "Adjourn It," "Soldier In The Army Of Love," "Everything Burns," and "Pretend You Remember Me."
