UPON A BURNING BODY and Friends Unite South Texas

Partnering with Joaquin in2 Inclusion for the 3rd Annual Rock in2 Inclusion benefit concert, Upon A Burning Body made their way to Corpus Christi's House of Rock on May 29th along with Fight From Within (New York), YUNG MO$H (Ohio), Overlay (San Antonio), and Corpus Christi's very own Throat Locust and War Cult. Not only did the San Antonio metal legends deliver for a great cause, they also left little doubt as to why they remain such a force in the metal scene locally and beyond.

After powerhouse performances from every band on the bill, the lights went down and the video wall turned on. The atmosphere shifted. Members Ruben Alvarez (guitar) and Thomas Alvarez (bass) stepped on stage for a stripped-down acoustic introduction and immediately seized the crowd's attention, offering a brief but welcome contrast to the evening's heavier moments. All eyes were on them, attention undivided. The audience readied themselves to witness what they knew would be a show to remember.

A few moments later when the last acoustic string vibrated to a stop, frontman Danny Leal entered and immediately the room erupted. He stepped onto the stage dripping with confidence and engaged the crowd from his first breath. This was a man with a mission: get everyone in the room off their feet. It was time to JUMP. The rest of the band showcased remarkable precision in their playing throughout the night, expertly balancing technical proficiency with raw aggression, never losing momentum. Standout moments included performances of B.M.F. and Southern Hostility, both of which drew some of the loudest reactions of the night.

The production complemented the music without overshadowing it. Dynamic lighting, thick atmosphere, and carefully timed visual effects enhanced the experience. Altogether they added another layer of impact to an already dominant performance. Longtime followers and first-time attendees were all fully invested in the experience. The energy never waned, carrying through to the final song.

By the end of the night, every band had delivered exactly what metal fans came to see: loud, passionate, and uncompromising performances. It was a reminder of the enduring power of live metal and a night that attendees won't soon forget. The mini Texas tour heads to Cine El Rey in McAllen on May 30th.
